Working Conditions

Hours, attendance, remote work, and payroll.

🕒 Working Hours

  • Working days: Sunday–Thursday, 10:00–18:00.
  • Monthly total: 160 effective hours.
  • Fri & Sat are off unless there’s business need.
  • 🕓 Fridays: If you work > 4h (manager-approved) → +1 day added to leave balance.

🏢 Office & Remote

  • Presence on official/public holidays requires manager approval.
  • WFH requests via Odoo, approved by manager, submitted ≥ 24h in advance.

Time Off

Time off at Red Square includes: Annual Leave, Sick Leave, Compassionate Leave, Maternity Leave, WFH, Hajj Leave, Unpaid Leave, and Compensatory Days.

🌿 Leaves & Time Off Types

📅 Annual Leave

  • < 2 years’ experience: 15 days/year.
  • ≥ 2 years’ experience: 21 days/year.
  • 10+ years of service or age 50+: 30 days/year.
  • Requests ≥ 48 hours in advance. For ≥ 1 week, submit ≥ 2 weeks early.

🤒 Sick Leave

  • Sick leave 1–2 days (with approval) is deducted from annual leave.
  • > 2 days requires a medical report.

🕊️ Compassionate Leave

  • 3 consecutive working days (immediate family).

🤰 Maternity Leave

  • 120 calendar days fully paid (for employees with ≥ 1 year of service).
  • After returning: 1 hour/day nursing break for 2 years.

🏡 Work From Home (WFH)

  • WFH requests are submitted through Odoo at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Requests must be approved by the direct manager.

🕋 Hajj Leave

  • 15 calendar days (eligible after 5 years of service).

🚫 Unpaid Leave

  • Used when an employee has exceeded their annual leave balance.
  • Also applicable for part-time employees as per agreement.
  • Requires prior approval from the direct manager and People & Culture.

⭐ Compensatory Days

  • Applied for official holidays where the employee works more than 4 hours.
  • Requires manager approval.
  • For each eligible day, one (1) day is added to the leave balance.

Compensation & Benefits

💰 Compensation & Payroll

  • Compensation package: basic salary, social insurance, quarterly performance bonus.
  • Payroll processed last 5 working days; salaries on the 1st via CIB.
  • Annual increases in Q1 (retro to Jan) based on appraisals.
  • Bonus distribution only if company achieves ≥ 85% of sales target.
  • Salary is confidential — only discuss with HR or your direct manager.

🧾 Allowances & Expenses

  • All transportation expense requests must be submitted by Wednesday each week.
  • Approved expenses will be processed and transferred the following Tuesday.
  • The Wednesday deadline allows five (5) days for processing before the fixed payment date.
  • Employees must attach all required receipts, evidence, and supporting documents to avoid delays or rejection.
  • Incomplete submissions may be delayed or returned for correction.
  • Compliance with this policy is mandatory for all employees requesting transportation reimbursements.
  • Accommodation handled for out-of-Cairo projects.
  • Medical insurance: voluntary enrollment post-probation (provider: Sarwa).

Code of Conduct

Shared Open Workspace

  • Clean & tidy desk policy; smoking is prohibited indoors.
  • Keep noise low to support focus and collaboration.

Use of Company Assets & Resources

  • Use equipment, supplies, and digital tools responsibly for business purposes.
  • Customer information is strictly confidential across all records, devices, and channels.
  • Any disclosure of confidential data (intentional or accidental) is gross misconduct and may lead to dismissal and legal action.

Brand, Social & Public Image

  • Maintain a professional LinkedIn profile.
  • Promote projects via official Red Square channels, or re-share official posts (avoid posting to take individual credit).
  • Defamation or behavior harming the company’s reputation is serious misconduct.

Conflict of Interest (Examples)

  • Favoring a vendor due to personal ties when stronger alternatives exist.
  • Influencing hiring to favor friends/family over more qualified candidates.

Dress Code

Do’s

  • Clean, ironed clothes; appropriate fit; polished shoes; neat hair.
  • Use light deodorant/perfume.
  • Ladies: simple, light makeup; avoid noisy accessories.
  • Gentlemen: trimmed nails; shaved/trimmed beard.

Don’ts

  • Shorts, slippers, revealing or transparent clothing.
  • Chipped/peeled nail polish.
  • Jeans (not ripped) are fine in the office; avoid in client meetings unless rapport is established.

Hiring & Resignation

Our Hiring Practice

  • Equal opportunity employer; no discrimination based on gender, race, religion, or beliefs.
  • Family members can be hired if disclosed and there’s no conflict of interest risk.
  • Referrals encouraged — ideally after your first 6 months for better judgment of fit.
  • Re-hiring ex-employees isn’t promoted but can be considered in special cases.

Saying Goodbye

  • Resignation notice period: minimum 2 months (depending on position).
  • Leaving without serving the notice allows the company to retain salary for the said month(s).
